1        My theme is Types of speech

2        In Outline I will present the types of speech, and their 4 types, as seen in the picture is

1 Informative speech. 2 Persuasive speech. 3 Demonstrative speech. 4 Entertaining speech.

But before we sort out these types of speech, we need to understand what Types of Speech are?

3        Types of speech are a system of speech means, historically and socially fixed, which are used in communication depending on the scope of the directivity of communication or areas of professional activity. With the help of speech types, a person enforces the goals. Namely, to interest, to attract attention, to convey information to people or to convince people etc.

4        Based on the foregoing objectives can be highlight 4 types of speech: 1 Informative speech

  • Informative speech is the speech which provides new information about

any topic, product, people, ideas, events or places.

The main goal of this type of speech is to teach people something new that they don't know, explain something to people or show them how to do something.And informative speech can be a five minute (e.g.: information about a new invention) or even three hours. (e.g.: seminars) or as something intermediate in situation or topic. The most important for Informative speech is well-matched supporting information. This is a good starting for a successful Informative speech.

5        Also it can be noted that an Informative speech can be split to classification, these are:

Speeches about Objects.

Speech objects can be people, animals, construction, location and all that can be seen or touched. Through the objective speech can disseminate information about a specific object. It is very important that object speeches have a goal, and also important that the description of the subject gave listeners a sense of inspiration, surprise or interest.

Speeches about Objects can include the following examples:

Why do people talk in your sleep?

What secrets are still hidden Egyptian pyramids?

15 Interesting facts about Queen Elizabeth. What she has achieved in the process of governing the country?

6         Speech about Events. In this type will be speaking about the events which happened, is happening or should happen. When the speaker gives information about an event, he needs to note the date, time, where it happened and under what circumstances it happened.

The purpose of the speech about the events can be to inform people about current or past events that they were in the light of recent events.

Speeches about Events can include the following examples:

The main reasons which led to the fall of the Berlin wall.

The origins of the holiday known as “Thanks giving day”.

What led to the death of the Roman Empire?

7        Speech about Concepts.

This type of Informative speech include beliefs, philosophies, positions, theories or arguments. Speeches about Concepts are immaterial.

These speeches must be connected with a specific themes or chronology or such physical phenomena.

Speeches about Concepts can include the following examples:

        The concept of Darwin's on the origin of man.

        Is there a love at first sight, it is truth or fiction?

        What is the meaning of human life?

8        Speech about Processes. In speeches about processes present information about the process of creating something or performing any work, and so on. This kind some kind of step by step instructions to perform work or something else. Speeches about processes are conducted in order to explain or show people how to create or made something, how to do incrementally, how it works or how it was done. Speeches about the processes gives people information about processes of making something after which they can repeat this process.

Speeches about Processes can include the following examples: Cooking class:

        How to cook a Turkey in the oven?

        Lecture: How to write a research paper?

        How Internet was created?

9        Persuasive speech. Persuasive speech helps the speaker to convince people in something, believe in something or change their point of view on the topic or to take the viewpoint of the speaker. The speaker should be able to do the analysis on his audience, what they like, what interests them, or Vice versa, in what they believe and so on. This would help him to persuade people in topics        

10        Persuasive speech can be performed in the following cases, for example: 1 the Emergence of a new vaccine against a specific disease, in this case by convincing it that people would buy it. 2 also in the TV advertising used persuasive speech in order to make people believe in necessity of product and buy it.  3 But the most famous situation in which use of persuasive speech is the election meeting where convince why that candidate should become President, for example.

11        It is possible also to indicate examples of persuasive speeches such as:

Reduce your weight with special pills. These pills will help you lose 5 pounds in a week for example.

To become a blood donor. To give blood for the salvation of man.

To become a member of an organization of environmental protection.        

12        Demonstrative speech. Demonstrative speech teaches the audience to perform some work or something else. A demonstrative speech is similar to an informative speech. Since both of these types of speech are taught anything. But the distinctive feature of demonstrative speeches from informative is that in demonstrative speech in front of an audience stands a visual materials, presentation or video in which they see with their eyes how to learn something.
