INTRODUCTION

The actuality  of this theme is that English is an international language that is spoken almost everywhere and  people learn English to communicate with foreigners in a particular situation. However, if your pronunciation is low and you often confuse stressors, then your partner  will not understand you . "Language is one of the great resonators, partly amplifying, partly squeezing the main tones of the human soul" said  J. A. Baudouin de Courtenay‌‌.[1]

At the same time, many beginner lever of english learners convinced that pronunciation is not necessary and they spend little  time to learn the rules of pronunciation in English,  because they think it is a waste of time. But even extensive knowledge of vocabulary and grammar will not be enough to fully communicate.‌‌   The necessity to understand literary and colloquial speech, which truly dominates current oral communication, is the practical value of studying this topic. Because teaching English is based on one choice, difficulties in comprehending the original speech by ear, especially from a distance, as well as in producing speech, can occur even among graduates of exceptional universities.

      L. V. Shcherba considered it natural that" at the dawn of human speech, several extralinguistic sound gestures of a person who began to be used with speech intentions, were complex articulations (complexes of articulations - simultaneously and consistent) and, with their small number, not educational evaluate systems according to their similarities and differences with each other, and therefore, without decomposing into sound elements, they were completely opposed to each other and were, thus, “word-sounds”, if possible. express myself" [2]

Pronunciation disturbances during formal speech, such as decreased tempo, volume, or prozodic signs of sound quality, may reflect and interpret disrespect for the listener. In the informal environment, however, the use of complete, unadjusted forms can be interpreted as either a desire to show purposeful influence and social distance, or a precision and artificiality of foreign speech. We all know that language is a very flexible phenomenon, so it requires constant learning and research. As for the English language, this demand will double as it requires special attention due to its regional variability.‌‌‌‌

A feature of the study of this problem is the fact that, at whatever stage of study it is, it is unlikely that anyone will be able to put an end to their conclusions, because we are dealing, perhaps, with the most “living” and fickle invention of mankind - language.

For research, I chose the topic "Phonetic features of spoken English".

A significant amount of time is spent studying areas of the language such as grammar and vocabulary. Only in the early phases, when the so-called "reading rules" play a role, is phonetics present. However, phonetics encompasses more than just precise letter pronunciation,  it also includes the ability to correctly detect transcription symbols, pick intonations, and much more.

Aim and tasks of the work: of coursework is to study the phonetic features of English speech in different branches. This can be very helpful for people just starting out learning a language. To achieve my goal, it was necessary to solve the following tasks:

- consider the phonetic systems of the language,

-study the phonetic features of spoken English,

- identify the classification of English sounds,

- outline the main phonetic features of spoken English,

The object of my course work is the analyze phonetics features of spoken English.

The subject  is to identify the main phonetic features of English conversational speech, and in particular, intonation, rhythm, volume, tempo, pause and sound phonetic processes in order to improve phonemic hearing in English learners.

The novelty of the work lies in the fact that the results obtained are important for applied and experimental research. The main conclusions and provisions of the study on such problematic issues as the phonetic features of spoken English , their causes and nature, can be used in the course of theoretical phonetics. In the course of practical phonetics of the English language, the results of the study can serve as the basis for specific recommendations aimed at the effectiveness of teaching pronunciation and listening comprehension of foreign speech. The obtained acoustic data on phonetic modifications of spoken English  can be essential for further experimental phonetic research.

CHAPTER I. THEORY OF ENGLISH PHONETICS

1.1. Articulation of speech organs of English sounds

The origin of the word  "phonetics" is a Greek word  "phona"— a sound, voice  which is a separate branch of linguistics that studies the phonetic side of a language. Phonetics in the broadest sense is the study of the structure of the organs of speech involved in the formation of speech sounds, the peculiarities of phonetic units, and the phenomena of sound change. Phonetic units include speech sounds, syllables, phonetic words, bars, phrases, accents, and melodies. It should be noted that phonetics does not study any sounds in nature, but speech sounds of social value that are formed in the human speech apparatus. Other sounds in nature are studied by the acoustics department of physics‌‌ Based on the explanatory dictionary of Dmitry Nikolaevich Ushakov, pronunciation is the pronunciation or articulation of speech sounds, that is, the reproduction of a particular sound using different parts of the oral cavity.
