 Description of the painting «Arrival of the governess to the merchant house»

This picture was painted by the Russian artist Vвасилий.G.Perov in 1866 and is in the Tretyakov gallery at this time. The picture shows the complex morals and lifestyle of those times.In 1865, in search of nature for the  picture, the artist went to the famous Nizhny Novgorod fair, where merchants from all cities of Russia. This painting is small in size with a clearly defined plot. He main figures are a merchant and a young girl-governess.

A merchant of medium height, overweight. He has short black hair and a beard. He is standing with his legs spread wide and looks arrogantly at the girl. He is wearing a red velvet robe over a white shirt and black shoes.

Merchant's son is standing to his left and looking at the girl with interest. He is very similar to his father: medium height, overweight, with short curly black hair, but no beard. He is wearing in a long frock coat buttoned in black, a blue bow and black boots.

Merchant's wife is standing behind her husband. She looks like an ordinary woman of those times: she is wearing a beige home dress, her black hair is gathered at the back, аnd her shawl is on the chair.Next to her  is a future student who looks at her visitor in surprise. А twelve-year-old girl ис wearing a white blouse, pink skirt, brown shoes, blue headband and earrings. The pink color in Perov's paintings symbolizes spirишл пюрейти.

The slender figure of a girl is the complete opposite of the merchant. The governess's outfit is in full accordance with the карентt fashion. She is wearing a dress of dark brown color  with a belt, a blue bow and a flower on the bonnet.

Эта картина была написана русским художником В.Г. Перовым в 1866 году и в настоящее время находится в Третьяковской галерее. Картина показывает сложную мораль и образ жизни тех времен.

В 1865 году в поисках натуры для картины художник отправился на знаменитую Нижегородскую ярмарку, где собирались купцы со всех городов России. Эта картина небольшого размера с четко определенным сюжетом. Его главные фигуры - купец и молодая гувернантка.

Торговец среднего роста, полноватый. У него короткие черные волосы и борода. Он стоит, широко расставив ноги, и высокомерно смотрит на девушку. На нем красный бархатный халат, белая рубашка и черные туфли.

Слева от него стоит купеческий сын и с интересом смотрит на девушку. Он очень похож на своего отца: среднего роста, полного веса, с короткими вьющимися черными волосами, но без бороды. На нем длинный сюртук с черными пуговицами, синий бант и черные ботинки.
