The review of the opera "The Barber of Seville"

"The Barber of Seville" is a recognized masterpiece that has transcended stages worldwide. This comedic opera was composed by the great Italian composer Gioachino Rossini in the early 19th century.

The plot centers on the young aristocrat Count Almaviva, who is determined to meet the beautiful Rosina. Her guardian, the cunning and greedy old man Don Bartolo, intends to marry his ward in order to acquire her wealthy inheritance. Pretending to be innocently unaware, Rosina fights for her own happiness. The ubiquitous trickster and jester, Figaro the barber, volunteers to assist the lovers in their complex situation.

This production is being presented at the Pushkin Opera and Ballet Theater.

The opera begins with the orchestra. From the spine-tingling notes of the overture, the entire audience was immersed in sweet anticipation. It is incredible how many excerpts from the opera "The Barber of Seville" we hear in our everyday lives without even realizing it. The orchestra performed exceptionally well under the guidance of a talented conductor. Throughout the entire opera, the symphonic music pierced to the core, reaching into the depths of the heart.

Speaking of the cast, it was the first performance for most of the actors. Despite this, all the roles were executed flawlessly. The lively facial expressions of the actors, along with their powerful voices capable of hitting any note, were enchanting. The opera was performed in Italian, and it is noteworthy that the entire performing group had excellent pronunciation.

The work of the costume designers and stage technicians cannot be overlooked. The vibrant and memorable costumes of the characters, combined with the authentic Italian set design, helped the audience to immerse themselves in the ambiance of 19th-century Italy.

The only drawback of this opera is the barely noticeable subtitles. For someone who is initially unfamiliar with the plot of the opera, it can be quite challenging to comprehend what is happening on stage. On the other hand, this allowed the audience to remain focused on the unfolding events.

Overall, "The Barber of Seville" is an opera worth watching. It is perfect for those who have decided to explore the wonderful world of musical art for the first time. The intriguing plot, entertaining dialogues, and professionalism of the entire staff will certainly captivate everyone.
