Darwin's theory of evolution influenced Freud, who developed a theory of personality based on that notion. The id, the ego, and the superego form the core of the system. Those terms were devised by Freud in order to assist him comprehend and analyze his patients' disordered minds. Because of advances in knowledge and education today, psychoanalysis is not only used to treat mentally troubled individuals but may also be used to examine writers or characters in literary works. Frank, the film's protagonist, possesses a multitude of evil characteristics, including being dishonest, irresponsible, ruthless, and lawless as a youth, and being recognized as a criminal across four continents.

After his parents' divorce, he began his criminal record by being a delinquent and brutally deceiving people without feeling guilty in order to get his own enjoyment. He then proceeds to deceive others on a worldwide scale through conning and forgery as a result of both parents' lack of mental and financial support. Frank's personality system is out of equilibrium. Psychopathy is a psychiatric disorder defined by "lack of remorse and irrationality related with criminal behavior and socioeconomic background."
