Dentistry is a science that studies the teeth, their structure, function and disease, treatment and prevention, as well as examines the oral cavity and jaws. “Dentistry” is translated from Greek as the science of the oral cavity, and the dentist is a person studying this science. Since ancient times, dentists have been very important for the people, because basically all ills begin in the mouth.
Dentistry does not stand still as other sciences, as technology develops every day and scientists come up with new and unique methods of treatment.
In ancient times, "dentists" did not treat their teeth, they pulled them out without knowing the methods of treatment. But in the 18th century in Russia, P. Foshar discovered science that teeth can and should be treated. In 1810 Dentist faculties opened in the medical universities of Russia.
Dental treatment was called "Therapy" and N.V. Sklifosovsky and A.K. Limberg made a huge contribution to therapeutic dentistry. Caries, pulpitis, periodontitis and their complications and still other diseases are referred to therapeutic dentistry. The treatment takes place in a dental clinic. There are private and public clinics. In the Private Clinic, treatment is mostly paid, but since it is paid, it is more effective.
The patient who comes to the dentist meets the nurse and conducts to the dental chair. A dentist examines a patient with the help of special dental instruments. Diagnosing a Dentist accepts treatment. Usually, treatment is carried out with the help of a drill, from which the dentist removes the carious area or opens the inside of the tooth. Then, in the case of caries, the dentist uses dental materials to prepare the tooth for the application of fillings. After finishing the treatment, the dentist must explain the importance of the teeth and their prevention.
