Good afternoon, students and teachers! Today the topic of business is very popular in Russia. How to open your own business from scratch: where should a beginner start? More and more Russians are asking this thought.

Over the past 15-20 years, many business coaches and even schools of entrepreneurs have appeared. If in the 1990s entrepreneurs were disliked and distrusted, then in the 21st century it has become prestigious to have your own business. Sometimes your own business is the only opportunity to make decent money in a region where it is very difficult to find work.

Today I will cover this topic with the help of a presentation.

Slide 2:

The modern civilized world cannot do without money. With money, a person can buy food, clothes, pay for travel, utility bills, treatment, and purchase services and goods.

Without money it is difficult to imagine a normal life in the world around us. But people did not always use money.

In the Stone Age, our ancestors hunted, gathered and exchanged goods directly. You give me a bear skin, I give you arrowheads. This process is called barter. But there were more and more goods, and direct exchange became inconvenient.

People invented money and agreed among themselves that it would be a means of exchanging goods.

Money is usually issued by the Central Bank. He also regulates the amount of money in the state’s economy.

For a person to have money, he can get it in several ways:

  • exchange your time for money - do useful work
  • organizing a system that will generate income is a business
  • receive an inheritance
  • win the lottery

95% of people choose the first way to make money. They get a profession and get a job. But there are also those who do business.

What motivates people who exchange wage labor for business?

An entrepreneur organizes the work of other people so that the business brings constant income.

The main reasons that push people to quit their jobs and start a business:

  • freedom to manage your own time
  • no income ceiling
  • creative self-realization
  • absence of superiors

Slide 4:

By working at work and receiving a salary for his work, a person avoids the difficulties that are inherent in any business:

  • it is enough to conscientiously fulfill your duties, which are specified in the contact
  • no need to think globally about the product, competitors, market situation
  • no liability to hired employees and contractors
  • no headaches about finances, accounting, that there are not enough funds in the accounts or that the bank has blocked the account
  • no need to worry about where to find clients

Wage labor is a means of directly exchanging time and labor for money. To earn money, you must go to work every day and complete the tasks assigned by management.

The main disadvantage of hired labor: if you stop going to work, you will stop getting paid.

In civilized countries, workers are protected by laws, for example, they can receive unemployment benefits, take paid leave or sick leave, or go on maternity leave after the birth of a child.

Slide 5:

Many experienced employees go into business to finally start earning normal money and not depend on the whims of their former employer.

Having your own business gives a person the opportunity to:

  • don`t depend on the whims of the employer
  • have more personal freedom of action
  • manage your time independently
  • create a profitable system that will work and bring in money without the direct participation of the entrepreneur
  • scale: expand to other cities, regions, states
  • use other people's labor
  • realize your global goals and mission
  • have an income that is not comparable to the average salary

Slide 6:

Not everyone can become an entrepreneur. Running a business is not the same as going to work.

The goals of an entrepreneur are different from those of an employee:

  • An employee wants to do work and get paid for it.
  • An entrepreneur wants to build a profitable system, realize global goals, and change the world for the better.

Slide 7:

What qualities should a person have to achieve success in business?

  • Have a desire to change the world for the better. You will achieve success only if you constantly improve your product and make it useful to other people. People won't buy what they don't need.
  • Have an active life position, motivation, be open, be interested in what is happening in the world, be able to make new acquaintances, and negotiate. Introverts are unlikely to be able to manage other people and conduct business negotiations.
  • Constantly learn and improve your qualifications. New knowledge will allow you to apply modern technologies, improve business processes and the product itself.
  • Promote your business: do advertising, go to thematic exhibitions and conferences.
  • Be a public figure - speak at business events. Promote your personal brand. People are drawn to people, not nameless things.
  • Be able to plan, organize yourself, and effectively delegate work to other people. Perhaps the key point. Without discipline and planning, there will definitely be no success.
  • Establish feedback from clients and accept criticism. This way the entrepreneur can improve his service.

Slide 8:

When starting a business, the first thing you need to do is answer yourself honestly, why is all this necessary? Isn't it easier to work at a regular job, have all the perks of official employment, and relax on weekends and holidays? How about sometimes working part-time and pursuing a hobby in your free time?
