Simple (Indefinite) Tense
Definition: S.T. обозначает простое, повторяющееся, либо обычное действие.
Характерные для S.T. слова: always, usually, often, rare, seldom, every day (month, week, year, minute…)
Я сегодня поеду домой. – I will go home today.

Progressive (Continuous) Tense.
Definition: C.T. обозначает продолженное, незаконченное действие, которое длится в определённый момент либо промежуток времени (в настоящем, прошлом или будущем). Это всегда процесс.
Характерные слова: now, still, while, for (some time), from (3) till (5) o’clock;
Используется в предложениях следующего типа:
When Pete came home, I was reading the book.
She was waiting for her friend when I saw her on the street.
While you were watching TV, I washed the dishes.
Обязательные компоненты: be(в нужном времени)+V-ing
