A young entrepreneur. How to start the way of one of the famous pizzerias in the Russian market.

"Dodo Pizza" has existed since 2011, and the first pizzeria appeared in the distant Syktyvkar. It was opened by Fyodor Ovchinnikov, who was then 29 years old. Archaeologist by education, he was not originally engaged in the culinary business - was a co-owner of a network of bookstores,and his share sold after the crisis of 2008. Before launching his own project Fedor gained experience in other networks of this type: Papa John's and Sbarro.

The first year of work at one institution "Dodo Pizza" finished with a revenue of 7 400 000 rubles. In November last year, the company had 13 own pizzerias and 239 franchising. At the same time, the company is still only beginning to conquer the main consumer markets of Russia — Moscow and St. Petersburg.

"Dodo" began to try its hand abroad earlier than in Moscow. The first foreign point was opened in October 2014 in Romania. In the US, the institution opened in March 2016 in the town of Oxford, Mississippi. Work on the American market "Dodo" began through its own company, setting a goal for ten years to open 400 points in the country.

The rapid growth of the company can not be explained only by marketing or product quality. According to Fyodor, "Dodo" would not exist without two fundamental things. The first is the Internet. The project team has created Dodo IS-its own information platform, which online monitors the work of pizzerias around the world. The management of Dodo IS is engaged in established Ovchinnikov in 2013, the company "Dodo systems", which he owns alone.

The second feature is openness. This, says Fedor, worked better than any advertising: "since 2006, I publish on the Internet all my income and expenses. When my pizzeria became successful, I began to write people who wanted to open such a business in their city. So I found strong franchisee partners, and their success reports, in turn, attracted new partners."

Plans for the development of the company, announced by the Creator of the Dodo network, suggest that by 2020, the total number of Dodo Pizza restaurants will exceed the mark of 600 "points". In particular, the emphasis will be placed on the development of such an extensive network of restaurants in Eastern Europe, where the company is still poorly represented.

Археолог по образованию, изначально он не занимался кулинарным бизнесом — был совладельцем сети книжных магазинов, и долю свою продал после кризиса 2008-го. Перед тем как запустить собственный проект Федор набирался опыта в других сетях подобного типа: Papa John’s и Sbarro.
