Tourism is considered a main way of making profit in many countries. Nevertheless, it may cause several problems without managing it appropriately. Personally, I believe tourism has more benefits than drawbacks.

To begin with, it has a drawback such as damaging the environment. In other words, it may cause water as well as land pollution. Tourists often litter and do not clean after themselves. It has been shown that in places where traveling industry is developed there has been an increase in water pollution. Moreover, often natural resources are exposed to pressure from overusing them. Thus, stress on local lands might happen which in turn has an influence on pollution.

On the other hand, there are several advantages. Tourism affects positively on economical state of the country as it contributes to increase of national budget along with providing citizens with working places. For instance, hospitality sector employs many people for different positions such as managers, waiters and chefs in hotels as well as restaurants. In addition to this, it promotes building international relations among countries. This means that people of different nations are able to travel and explore new places, languages and culture. To give illustration, they can have cultural exchange by learning about local culture, customs along with traditions, and representing their own. Finally, it makes possible the development of infrastructure. The government can invest money in building roads, railway roads and medical facilities in order to create comfortable conditions for foreign guests.

To conclude, although tourism industry has certain negative effects, namely damaging the environment, it has extremely positive influence on the growth of the country in terms of budget and infrastructure. I believe these benefits outweigh its drawbacks.
