Antiglobalists in Canada conduct protest against the G7 summit

Leaders of the G20 are coming to Toronto. This includes both Heads of State and Government of the Eight and other non-G8 leaders. Anti-globalization moves against the G7 summit in Canada's Quebec. The demonstration is attended by about 300-400 people. Protesters burn flags of participating countries.

The G7 Summit of Leaders (USA, Canada, France, Germany, UK, Italy and Japan) will be held June 8-9 in the Canadian province of Quebec.

On May 3, the Guardian announced that the British authorities at the summit intend to call on the Allies to reconsider the line of dialogue with Moscow and develop an anti-Russian strategy.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said earlier that joining the "Big seven" is not possible yet, and a return to G7 format is inevitable.

Initially, the protesters behaved relatively quietly, danced and simply shouted anti-globalization and anti-government slogans.

But a demonstration that began peacefully near the Ontario Legislature's antiglobalist congregation grew into a riot, during which protesters broke the storefronts of several shops, including a large mall. People started throwing firecrackers, some of which got into police cars and set them on fire.

According to the television station, Canadian police forces were forced to use tear gas against protesters.

Спочатку мітингувальники вели себе відносно спокійно, танцювали і просто вигукували антиглобалістські і антиурядові гасла.

Але демонстрація, яка мирно почалася біля будівлі законодавчих зборів провінції Онтаріо антиглобалістів переросла в безлади, в ході яких протестуючі розбили вітрини декількох магазинів, включаючи великий торговий центр. Люди стали кидати петарди, деякі з яких потрапили в поліцейські автомобілі і підпалили їх.
