I’m gonna give a talk about the most famous psychological experiments that were conducted for the whole history.

Solomon Asch conducted an experiment proving that a person will conform the standard if necessary. Nobody conducted such experiments before. As on the picture there was a room with a big screen and a row of some people on the chairs. It was written a question on the screen: what stripe is the longest? But only one of these guys and girls was a real participant of the experiment. Others were special actors that had to come up with one incorrect answer. Here on the picture the right answer is number two but all the actors chose number one. And every time, completely every time, the real participant of the experiment also chose incorrect answer, the same that was chosen by the actors. This experiment perfectly describes how a person will act in kind of similar situation.

Two guys from America created a special experiment. One video of car crash was shown to the participants (the participants were random people from California) of the experiment. Then they were separated on two groups. The groups got the same questions but with different wording (for example, “What was the speed of the red car?” and “How fast did the red car move?”). And the experiment shows that wording of the question influences the answer directly.

One guy from America created an experiment describing the baby’s behavior. He attached two photos on the board: the first is the eye of the bull and the second is person’s face. Then he brought this board to the room of the experimented baby. He looked after behavior of the baby for a week. Finally, he determined that most of the time the baby looked at person’s face. Thus, as the result of the experiment, people understood that babies can make a choice from the earliest childhood. Before this experiment it was considered that babies cannot interpret the environment correctly up to three years old.

One smart guy analyzed a couple of experiments of another smart guy that were done on Hotorn-factory not far from Chicago. He immediately got a consequence that people working on this factory started to do their job better anytime they understood they are under surveillance. This trait got the same name as the Hotorn-factory.

These experiment is considered as one of the most unethical experiments. There was only one participant – a small baby named Albert. It was put a big grey rat on the table in front of him. First time, he ignored it or just was not afraid of it. Then the organizer of the experiment started to hit the table with a hammer at the same time he showed the rat to Albert. Then Albert started to fear the rat anytime he saw it. Similar things were done with other objects. And Albert started to fear all of them.
