1) Higher education plays an important role in the development of any country. 2) It provides the country with highly-qualified specialists. 3) It trains people to become teachers, engineers, doctors and other professional workers. 4) Today highly educational institutions of Russia include over 700 universities and academies. 5) University gives training on a full-time and part-time basis. 6) Tuition if free only for Russia citizens who successfully pass entrance examinations. 7) The academic year usually lasts 9 months and has 2 semesters. 8) Students take exams at the end of each semester. 9) If the results of the examinations are good students get state grants. 10) Twice a year students have vacations – two weeks in winter and two months in summer. 11) The first- and second year students get knowledge the fundamental sciences. 12) At the third year students get advanced knowledge the special subjects. 13) After four years of study students get a Bachelor’s degree. 14) Then students can continue their studies and get a Master’s degree. 15) Universities have their own students hostels and some of them have large and excellent sport centers. 16) In my opinion, a higher education gives you the opportunity to get a well-paid job after graduating from the university.
