Технология меняет мир вокруг себя. Технологическое изменение затрагивает почти все сферы жизни. С момента, когда человек впервые научился использовать заостренную палку для охоты, до того дня, когда компьютеры приняли на себя многие задачи торговли на оптовом рынке, технологические изменения стабильно набрали скорость и влияние.

Улучшения здоровья с помощью развития технологий в фермерстве, которые увеличили доступность продуктов питания, и улучшения в системе здравоохранения в виде лекарств и лечения изменили демографию мирового населения. Даже 100 лет назад, выживало гораздо меньше детей. Большая волна почти населения привела к выработке земли, использованию таких ресурсов, как вода, нефть, минералы, привела к вынужденной миграции. В связи со своим ростом города занимают культивируемые земли, сокращая ее количество для выращивания еды.
