1. Reduplication

давным-давно: давно [dɐˈvno]- “long time ago”; [dɐˈvnɨm dɐˈvno]- "very long time ago". The word was made by partial reduplication of the word давно, specifically part дав.

белым-бело: бело [bʲɪˈlo]- “white”; [bʲɪˈlɨm bʲɪˈlo]- "very white"". The word was made by partial reduplication of the word бело, specifically part бел.

большой-пребольшой: большой [bɐˈlʲʂoj]- “big”, [bɐˈlʲʂoj prʲɪbɐˈlʲʂoj]- "very big", lit. "big-very-big". The word was made by  reduplication of the word the whole word большой and adding prefix “пре”.    

2. Compounding: opaque or transparent

стол-книга: [stoɫ-ˈkniɡə] “table that folds like a book”. The word is formed by transparent compounding, by combining two words table (стол) and book (книга). 

бело-розовый: [ˈbʲeɫə- ˈrozəvɨj] “white pink”. The word is formed by transparent componding, by combining two words white (бело) and pink (розовый). 

академгородок: [ɐkəˌdʲemɡərɐˈdok] “the name of the district of the city where the scientific institutes of the Academy of Sciences, residential buildings and various institutions for employees are located”. The word is formed by transparent compounding, by combining two words academic (академ) and village (городок). 

сумасшедший: [sʊmɐˈʂɛt͡ʂʂɨj] “crazy”. The word is formed by opaque compunding following: с (s) +‎ ума́ (umá) +‎ соше́дший (sošédšij). Literal meaning is went (physically) from the mind.

кругозор: [krʊɡɐˈzor] “outlook”. The word is formed by opaque compunding following: круг (krug) + зор (zor).The words mean circle and vision.

буревестник: [bʊrʲɪˈvʲesʲnʲɪk] “petrel, bird”. The word is fromed by opaque compounding two words storm (búrja) and messenger (véstnik).

3. Recent borrowing

смартфон:  [smɐrtˈfon] “smartphone”. The word was borrowed from English language and used a lot nowadays.

селфи: [ˈsɛɫfʲɪ] “selfie”. The word was also borrowed from English and is in widespread use today.

лайк: [ɫajk] “like”. The word was also borrowed from English and is also in widespread use today.

4. Blending 

Хрущобы: [xrʊˈɕːɵbɨ]= Хрущев [xrʊˈɕːɵf] + трущобы [trʊˈɕːɵbɨ]

“an apartment or a house (usually five-storey) of typical architecture of residential areas built in the 50s — 70s of the XX century in the USSR”. The word was formed by combining Nikita Khrushov’s surname and the word “трущобы”, which translates as slums. Derived from the surname Khrushchev — the ruler of the USSR, under which there was a massive construction of such houses. The word has negative connotation.
