About this book's author:

Let me start by telling you about the author of this wonderful book. Suzanne Collins is an American writer, who was born on August 11th, in 1962 in the city of Hartford Connecticut. Suzanne was keen on writing since childhood. Because of her father's career, her family moved to many places, but despite this, she finished high school. After high school, she entered Indiana University with a degree in Theater and Telecommunications. Then Collins moved to New York City.

One day she was inspired by the story of Alice in Wonderland, and she wrote her first book of her five-part series called  The Underland Chronicles. Next, she wrote the Hunger Games trilogy, which became an international bestseller.

Why I chose The Hunger Games:

I chose this book because I like books about adventure, thrillers, fantasy, and action. Also, This part of the Hunger Games series of books is interesting and exciting because here we can witness the transformation of Katniss from an insecure girl into a more confident heroine. In addition, in this part we learn about the world in which these people live and why 12 districts must fight.

Main characters:

The main characters of this novel are Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark.

The plot:

The plot begins with Katniss and her sister Prim who were preparing for the Reaping. This is a ceremony where each district must choose two tributes, a young boy and a young girl, who will present them at the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a battle to the death. During the reaping, Peeta and Prim were chosen. Katniss understood that her sister could not do it, so she became a volunteer.

After the reaping, Katniss and Peeta were taken to the Capitol. There they began training for the Hunger Games. Also, they visited the ceremony and the interview to find sponsors. The next day after the interview, all twenty-four tributes were taken to the large forest arena, where the battle started. Throughout the eighteen days of the Hunger Games, the main characters overcame many trials. They were on the verge of death, but they didn't give up and were ready to do anything to survive this battle.

In the end, Katniss and Peeta defeated their opponents and won the challenge that they threw at the Capitol. In this way, they became the winners of the 74th Hunger Games and went home.

Let me to tell you about my favorite moments.

My first favorite moment is when Katniss shoots an arrow through the Game Makers to pierce the apple in the roast pig's mouth. She wanted to get attention because those people weren't really looking at her.

My second favorite moment is when Katniss and Peeta were ready to eat poisonous berries of nightlock, just to avoid fighting each other.
