The twenty-first century is a time of irrestrainable technological progress.

Every day, thousands of scientists create new technologies designed to improve our lives. Meanwhile, those inventions that we are using now are gradually becoming obsolete. It’s important to remember that the same inventions, on the one hand, are useful and make life easier for humanity, and on the other hand, cause damage in some areas. However, humanity does not stop for a second in its development and another advanced technology created in our time is artificial intelligence. To be honest before this lesson, I did not delve into this topic, although many times my friends and acquaintances told me to try to simplify my life while writing an essay and other papers for university studies. I even did not have any interest because I truly distrust everything related to such technology when something is supposed to be done on behalf of a human and human mind/thoughts. As it was mentioned, one artificial intelligence engineer said that although the new version was “not perfect” it had scored 90% in the US on the bar exams and a near-perfect score on the high school SAT math test. It could also write computer code in most programming languages, meaning that it is way much smarter than an ordinary person. Probably machines would write essays in a much better way, but what is the purpose of my existence then if I cannot even express my thoughts in a simple essay?

Talking about chat GPT as about the fastest-growing consumer application in history makes sense, since it represents that people actually do not want to use their own brain and get used to oversimplifications. Yet altogether with these simplifications come the dangers which are in even bigger falsehood as it is claimed by Altman who is particularly worried about large-scale disinformation.

IT IS SCARY

While Engineers are saying that it is a fact that we are dealing with something fundamentally new, ordinary people consider such chat bots to be scary and still there is some ground for totally wrong information which might lead to AI generated propaganda related to waves of alternative histories. So, this is true that we have to worry about the amount of misinformation and as AI researchers themselves try to warn by saying that there needs to be an oversight. But nowadays we still do not know if the benefits of such Chat Bots outweigh the risks, but for sure we will see the consequences in the future.
