Pedagogical University

I am a study at Omsk Pedagogical University at the Faculty of History. The Institute was founded in 1932, previously it was called Omsk Pedagogical Institute. In 1993 it was granted the status of the University. The University trains highly qualified specialists. At present the University caters for thirteen thousand full-time and part-time (extra-mural and evening) students. There are forty-one faculties at the university. I study at the Faculty of History. The dean of my faculty is Anton Alexandrovich Stegnyushin. Post-graduate studies are available in different disciplines in the University. Most of the faculty are Professors having academic degrees. My academic building is located at Partizanskaya 4a. Lots of classrooms, lecture halls, assembly halls, study rooms, laboratories, libraries, reading-halls, sport facilities, canteens are at the students' disposal. A lot of students are provided with a hall of residence. Classes begin at 9.00 in the morning and are over at 7.00 in the evening. Students usually attend several a lectures or an seminars a day. Our curriculum consists of the following classes: English, history of the ancient world, history of Russia, Fundamentals of Russian statehood, Russian language and culture of speech, theory of state and law. My favorite subjects are the History of the Ancient World, the Foundations of Russian statehood, the Theory of State and Law. I have to work independently, master additional material, and read additional literature. Due to my work, I don't have much time to study the disciplines. The academic year is divided into two terms: the autumn term and the spring term. At the end of each term students take credit tests and examinations. This semester we have exams on the theory of state and law, the history of Russia. I study by correspondence, so we don't participate in extracurricular activities. The course of studies lasts 5 years. On graduating the students take final exams, submit a graduation paper. Upon graduation, students receive a bachelor's. Most graduates work in various educational institutions (including kindergartens, schools, colleges, gymnasiums, lyceums, technical schools, institutes and universities) of our city and Russia as a whole. No, I don't want to work as a history and social studies teacher.
