1. Management or leadership? It is important to separate these two concepts. In order to manage people, i.e. successfully set tasks and control their implementation, requiring a survey, industry knowledge, i.e. expertise, as well as management skills such as identifying control points, understanding the functionality and business processes, the right setting goals. At the same time, it is important to always remember that any business, the best or the worst, is made by ... its employees. That is people. A leader is a person who knows how to effectively manage people. Leadership, in turn, is impossible without a fairly high level of EQ. The emotional component of leadership includes very significant components. I will name the main one: it is the ability to hear, understand people, be able to accurately understand their motivation, and even sometimes do it better than themselves. It is important to be able to place accents and set tasks, motivating people to do what is important and valuable for each of them individually. Even more important is to control your emotions, not to succumb to negativity, and even more so not to transfer it to "corporate air" in any case.
2. Common goal. Another important aspect of leadership is to be able to formulate and realize one common goal and consistently lead your team to it. If the entire team does not have such a disclosure, then only its own functionality will be carried out and not kept in the head of the overall business goal - from the implementation of the annual plan to selective leadership in the market. With this approach, the synergy from the general sensations is lost, which is always dangerous.
3. Constant analysis. A successful leader and manager is a person who is engaged in an internal analysis of the ubiquitous. First of all, he must ask himself the question: why is this situation arising now and what questions should I make? What happens at this point in time and space? What decisions or inattention resulted in the current situation? At this level, it is necessary to be extremely honest and distinguish between external causes on which we have no research, and causes that are under our control, and causes that are under our control, and the latest analyzes.
4. Making mistakes is good. Everyone has the right to make mistakes, and it's important to forgive yourself for your mistakes and let people make them their own. Often, going through tests such as not understanding the structure of the business or being up to the task, your subordinate will gain the necessary experience and part of the team. Every leader recognizes that failure is a natural and often inevitable step towards understanding business goals and understanding their role in the game.
5. Self-development with a team project. The task of the leader - the player, is to set new functions for himself, to evolve. The task of a successful leader is also to develop his subordinates, to set new tasks for them, to bring them to new levels. If things go in cycles and become locked in only his leader persona, the inability to "get everyone the fish" brought to such travelers will leave everyone at a loss. It is much more profitable to teach a colleague "to properly hold the bait" during any detention, to do it in order to collect a lot, and business - just a little.
