How I spent my summer/winter holidays

Holidays are a time when you can take a break from studying, go on a trip, chat with friends and family, do hobbies or just relax. This year I spent my holidays in different ways: in summer I was at the sea, and in winter I was in the mountains. Both holidays were unforgettable and interesting.

In the summer I went with my parents to the south, to Sochi. We lived in a cozy hotel near the beach. Every day we swam in warm and clean water, sunbathed in the sun, played volleyball and built sand castles. I really enjoyed watching marine animals: fish, jellyfish, crabs and even dolphins. Once my parents and I went on an excursion to the Olympic Park, where you could see stadiums, museums and fountains. I liked to look at the huge torch that burned during the Olympic Games. We also visited the water park and dolphinarium, where you could ride the slides and watch the performance of dolphins and seals. I was delighted with these smart and cute animals.

In addition, we did a lot of other things in Sochi. We went to various concerts and shows that took place on the embankment or in parks. We listened to music, watched fireworks and danced. We also tried different food: kebabs, khachapuri, ice cream and fruit. I especially liked the watermelon — it was so juicy and sweet! We also went to the mountains by cable car and admired the view of the sea and forests. We even went on an excursion to Abkhazia, a neighboring country that has its own culture and history. We visited ancient temples, fortresses and palaces. I remember one palace — it was built of white stone and surrounded by a beautiful garden.

In winter, I went with my grandparents to Krasnoyarsk. They live in a village near the mountains. We lived in a wooden house with a stove and a homemade Christmas tree. Every day we went skiing through snowfields and forests, sledding down the hill, sculpting snow animals. I really liked to breathe fresh and cold air, listen to the crackle of snow under my feet and see how the sun sparkles on snowflakes. Once my grandfather and I went on an excursion to the Stolby National Park, where you could see unique rock formations of different shapes and sizes. I liked to climb them and take pictures against the background of beautiful views. We also visited the nature museum, where you could learn a lot of interesting things about the animals and plants of Siberia.

Besides, we did a lot of other things in Krasnoyarsk. We went to various events and celebrations that took place in the city. We were looking at a Christmas tree decorated with colorful lights and toys. We visited theaters and cinemas, where we could watch interesting performances and films. We also tried different food: dumplings, pancakes, pies and tea. I especially liked the apple pie — it was so fragrant and delicious! We also went to the zoo and circus,
