TSIS-3 “Ethics in Business world”

The third TSIS assignment focuses on speaking.

The main aim is to increase the students’ awareness about ethics in business world.

Introduction: Ethics is a branch of philosophy, which is concerned with principles, and rules of human behavior. It considers what is «right» and «wrong» and examines moral values.  All cultures are a complex mixture of their beliefs, values, attitudes, norms (rules) and ethics. Ethics is a key component in academic, business and sport world and has a great impact on strategic direction of society.

Instructions:

1. You will have to choose a country and do research focused on ethical and unethical actions in business world.
2. Use any materials available in libraries and internet. Do not forget to make a list of references.
3. Prepare a presentation based on your research findings. The presentation can be made in pairs or individually.
4. Presenters will be given 4-5 minutes to report to the whole class.
5. Students in the class are welcome to ask questions and involve in the discussion related to the topic under study.  

Tips:

Business ethics is best described in terms of: socializing norms, ethical code, ethical issues, ethics concerns, accounting practices, business strategy, treatment of employees and supplies, business activities, ethical aspects, unethical practices, commercial objectives, multinational companies, loophole, child labor, reduce costs, principles or values, code of conduct, obligations, law, attitude.

This assignment accounts for 2points maximum. The materials must be presented and handed in time specified. Late materials are not accepted!
