TYPOLOGICAL SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE WORKS OF BRECHT'S "MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN” AND CHINGIZ AITMATOV’S “MOTHER'S FIELD

В статье анализируются сходства и различия произведений Б. Брехта «Героизм матери и ее дети», Ш. Айтматова «Мамаша кураж». Авторы обосновывают сущность раскрытия образа женщин, принимавших участие в войне.

      The article is about typological similarities and differences between the works of Brecht's "Mother Courage and Her Children” and Chingiz Aitmatov’s “Mother's Field". Both of these writers are honorable and respectable people of his country. Germany and Kyrgyzstan are two different countries with different customs and traditions , literature, respectively and these two countries differ from each other. To find the similarities in the category of works of very different writers from

different countries is already news. The aim of my article is to find the similarities and differences comparing heroes and motivic indicators of "Mother Courage and Her Children" and "Mother's Field". The duties of this work include the following: provide complete information about these two products, as well as to present a summary of these works show the role played by these works in world literature and show unity subjects of these works. By translating into Kazakh language this

works’ themes were changed into varieties of themes.    

For example the play “Mother Courage and her children” was translated into “Әйдік шешей және оның балалары”, “Әйдік апай және оның балалары”, “Әйдік апа және оның балалары”, “Кураж шешей және оның балалары”, or just “Әйдік шешей” and “Кураж шешей”. With Aytmatov’s work we have the same problem. It was translated as «Ана, Жер-ана», «Жер-ана» and «Құс жолы».

      By reading Chingiz Aytmatov’s “Mother’s field” and Bertolt Brecht’s “Mother Caurage and her children” , I noticed many similarities. Both works tell the fate of the mother during the war. Brecht based his work on the Thirty Years War in Germany, and Aitmatov same narrates Great Patriotic War. If you tell briefly about the similarities of these works, the protagonists of both works "mother".

And in "Mother Courage" and "Mother's Field" main characters are mothers of three children. In "Mother's Field" the main character and protagonist, Tolgonai loses in war all three sons Kasim, Maysalbek, Dzhaynak and her husband Suvankul. In Brecht's play the main character mother Courage loses her sons Eilif, Shveytsarkas and mute daughter Catherine. Courage and Tolgonai are very hardy, strong spirit mothers who have fallen under the irony of having survived the war. Having gone through all the difficulties still have not broken the head and lived on with the pain of loss. If we talk about the differences, Chingiz Aitmatov’s work was written as the story, and B. Brecht wrote his work for the theater, that is, in the form of play. Perhaps that is why in the Brecht’s work act plays an important role rather than a description of events or characters. Studying these works I identified several indicators of motives: War motive, motive to benefit from the war, the motives beginning and ending of the war, the loss of children motive, marriage motive, escape to the front motive, motive betrayal, sacrifice motif, motive dishonored motive widowhood, theft motive, starvation motive, motive of undercovering the truth, motive of loneliness, motive of pregnancy as well as others. Motive war naturally present in both works as both works theme is war.

Escape to the front motive is also present in both works. If Brecht's play on the front runs Courage’s eldest son Eilif, in Aitmatov’s work Tolgonai’s youngest son Dzhaynak runs to the front without the approval of his mother . Motive award alias is present only in the work of Brecht. People awards Anne Freling nickname “Mother Courage” for her courage. Motive hiding the truth is present in both works. In "Mother's Field" Tolgonai hides from his grandson that actually she did not own grandson . And in "Mother Courage" Courage with the purpose to protect herself and her daughter hiding from the court that Shveytsarkas is her son. Motive war began only in the Aitmatov’s product "Mother’s field " but the product of Brecht “Mother Courage” starts since the war. Motive of ending the war is present in both works. The only difference is that a victory for the people in the work of
