A computer network is a system that connects two or more computing devices to transmit and exchange information. Computing devices include everything from a mobile phone to a server. These devices are connected using physical wires such as fiber, but they can also be wireless.
The modern world revolves around the Internet, which is a network of networks connecting billions of devices around the world. Organizations of any size use networks to connect their employees' devices and shared resources, such as printers. An example of a computer network in general is traffic monitoring systems in urban cities. These systems alert officials and emergency services with information about traffic and incidents. A simpler example is using collaboration software such as Google Drive to share documents with colleagues who work remotely. Every time we connect via video call, stream movies, exchange files, communicate with instant messages or just access something on the Internet, the computer network is working. Computer networks is a branch of computer science that deals with the idea, architecture, creation, maintenance and security of computer networks. It is a combination of computer science, computer technology and telecommunications.
Computer simulations are programs that run various mathematical scenarios to determine the potential scale or impact that a particular scenario may have. For example, simulations help car manufacturers to conduct virtual crash testing of their new car models. Instead of physically crashing dozens of new cars, the researchers run simulations to see all the possible scenarios that could happen to both the car and the passengers in a multitude of accidents. These simulations determine whether the car is safe enough to drive. The idea is that computer modeling allows researchers to reproduce possible real—world events — from the spread of infectious diseases to impending hurricanes - so that we can save time and money planning for the future. Simply put, computer modeling is computer programs that simulate a real scenario or product and test a variety of possible outcomes.
Computer modeling has become a useful tool for mathematical modeling of many natural systems in physics ( computational physics ), astrophysics , climatology , chemistry , biology and manufacturing , as well as human systems in economics .psychology , social sciences , healthcare and engineering . The system simulation is presented as a run of the system model. It can be used to study and obtain new information about new technologies, as well as to evaluate the performance of systems that are too complex for analytical solutions.
