Working with clients, computer programming, filling out forms, processing applications, orders and other data - jobs in these areas of activity can now move around the world just as it has been happening for a long time in industrial production and agriculture.

К началу ХХ в. большинство трудящихся понимали, что, выращивая урожай и собирая машины, они конкурируют с трудящимися на других континентах.

Поэтому около 100 лет назад они начали организовано искать защиты от превратностей глобализации того времени. Американские сталепромышленники добились возведения протекционистских барьеров от британских производителей.

Роль океанских пароходов играют теперь Интернет, подводные кабели и спутниковая связь. Через океан можно торговать уже не только товаром, а и информацией. Работа с клиентами, компьютерное программирование, заполнение форм, обработка заявок, заказов и прочих данных  - рабочие места в этих сферах деятельности могут теперь перемещаться по всему миру точно также,  как это давно происходит в промышленном производстве и сельском хозяйстве.
