Improvement of the ecological situation in the region. When growing GMO crops, the use of herbicides and insecticides is significantly reduced due to the resistance of plants from genetically modified seeds to weeds, pests, and adverse weather conditions.

Cost reduction. The resistance of GMO varieties to various negative environmental impacts leads to a decrease in the use of plant protection products, which means savings. For farmers in poor countries, GM varieties are not only the best option, but often the only option.

The ability to harvest on soils with different characteristics. Thanks to the introduced genes, the plant can survive under stressful conditions, and the farmer has the opportunity to profitably use soils that were previously considered barren.

Weed and pest resistance. Farmers can save on herbicides and insecticides, but in addition to financial benefits, this also means cleaner products for the consumer.

Increased (compared to non-GM varieties) yield. The farmer receives more profit, and the consumer receives products at a lower price due to lower costs for its cultivation.

Improved performance. Thanks to the introduction of new genes, it is possible to increase the content of useful substances in the product. A striking example is the situation with a lack of vitamin A in the diet of residents of Asian countries - to solve the problem, a GMO variety "golden rice" was bred, which made it possible to cope with the deficiency. In addition, GMO feeds increase the productivity of livestock farms and improve the quality of their products.Улучшение
