A family from Maryland lost their 14-year-old daughter to an accident which was supposedly caused by the two cans of energy drink she had earlier. Her parents immediately put all the blame on the Monster company and are now waiting for the decision. More details on the situation in our next video.  

The family of the 14-years-old Maryland girl has filed a lawsuit against Monster Beverage Corporation, after the girl with a heart condition died after drinking two cans of its Monster energy drink in a 24-hour period.

Wendy Crossland says her daughter Anais Fournier died after a severe reaction to drinking too much of the energy drink. The lawsuit, filed in California Superior Court, said that after drinking two 24-ounce cans of Monster Energy on consecutive days Fournier went into cardiac arrest. She was placed in an induced coma and died six day later.

 The lawsuit, filed by her parents, said Fournier died from “cardiac arrhythmia due to caffeine toxicity” that complicated an existing heart valve condition. The two drinks together contained 480 milligrams of caffeine, the equivalent of 14 12-ounce cans of Coca-Cola.

Monster, the top-selling energy drink in the United States, said it does not believe its energy drink was “in any way responsible” for the girl’s death. Before filing a wrongful death lawsuit late last week against the makers of Monster the family sought reports of similar incidents of file with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The found four other incidents in the past year alone concerning people who drank Monster. Crossland says the drinks should be restricted. The Food and Drug Administration said that it was investigating the deaths “Monsters is unaware of any fatality anywhere that has been caused by its drinks” the company said in a statement, adding that it intended to vigorously defend itself against the lawsuit.
