Human overpopulation problem
Introduction
To begin with, human population are increasing rapidly nowadays and has touched almost 8 billion in 2022 and could attain growth of 12 billion before the 2050 year which could negatively affect on environment and ecological changes. Therefore, 49 developed countries annually showed at least 2.3% growth rate. Hence, we can say with certainty some causes of human being overpopulation.
Causes of human overpopulation:
1. The reduction of death rate. Since the 18th century the growth of population have been gradually increasing to nowadays, unlike in previous centuries death rate has decreased in the 21st century due to there are no more large wars, no more deadly epidemics in modern world. However, the imbalance of two rates has started from discovery of agriculture by our ancestors to sustain their nutrition without hunting. Moreover, industrial revolution allowed humans to increase food production by using fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.
2. Improved medicine. A few centuries ago, disease took the lives of millions of people annually, thereby helping to balance human population. However, discovering of many disease and the ability to defeat them has saved many lives of people. Hence, nowadays, better medical facilities help to avoid death.
3. Poverty. Poverty is also factor in overpopulation. Some families from poor neighbourhoods try to compensate themselves with money at the expense of multifamily. As well as paving the way to lack of education which opens the door to poverty and the establishement of family.
4. Migration. To begin with, migration is also a factor in overpopulation. Many people prefer a higher standard of living in developed countries such as Canada, the USA which makes it an overpopulated place. Futhermore, there are other aspects such as demand for food and real estate.
Negative effects of human overpopulation:
1. Ecological problem. The consequences of overpopulation is very large and large tends to be negative. First of all, it is bad for environment, local nature, pollution of water, deforestation, senseless hunting on animals, pollution of the oceans, for example, oil extraction. In addition, the rise in the amount of CO2 emissions leads to global warming which could be a big issue for rest of world.
2. Unemployment and rise of demand for living. The place where is overcrowded or overpopulated it gives rise to unemployment. Hence, high cost of living and lack of workplaces generates poverty, crime and theft, due to these some families could not feed their family and going to do such illegal things because they do not have job or due to high cost of living.
3. Pandemics and Epidemics. As we discussed above, overpopulation generates ecological problem and poverty. However, there is a connection between two aspects that can generate a new huge issue to world. First of all, poverty is linked to all environmental problems and non-existent health care or unhygienic living conditions which causes infections or can rise percentage of new epidemics or pandemics.
