        Sociology is the science that concentrates on society, human social behavior, patterns of human relationships and social life. Indeed, humans play a big role in political and economic factors of life, since every process builds on people. However, not all people understand the importance of the science. What does sociologists do?

        Sociologists have many different methods to understand people. They meet face-to-face, conduct individual or group interviews, conduct telephone surveys and collect people’s opinion from the Internet.

People may think that collecting and analyzing all data can be easy, nevertheless, it is opposite. There are people that are afraid to share their opinion, since they may face sanctions. There have been occasions when civilians were mistreated for their true opinions. Besides, there is a certain category of people claiming that sociology surveys are not accurate and therefore they do not trust them.

The aim of the sociology is to show the actual results of what people think about certain situation or problem; however, it is up to people to believe it or not. In order to conduct those surveys, sociologists go through sweat and tears, since it is very difficult to communicate with variety of people. Some people ignore the offer, some are hesitant to answer any of the questions. Indeed, in the past, 10-15 years ago, when digitalism was not as developed as it is now, it was much more harder, since sociologists had to go to respondents’ houses (and do surveys)
or ask questions on the streets. Now, these are replaced by online surveys, which are convenient to use. Furthermore, there are tools that can show you the statistics based on the respondents’ answers.

In my opinion, sociology is a challenging science, and being a sociologist requires determination, critical thinking and great communication skills. It is sad that some people underestimate the sociologists’ hard work, when they endeavor so much to help society. Therefore, let’s respect sociologists and trust sociology, because it is interesting and trustworthy science!
