I wish to express my opinion on the article, which is presented below, from the site skillbox.ru. This article talks about the profession "advertising and public relations".

“ "Advertising and public relations" is an independent specialty, which is taught at the university. It is located at the intersection of marketing, journalism and sociology. In the OKSO, it belongs to the sciences of society and is located in the section "Mass media and information and library science".

According to the "Vuzoteka" service, in Russia, a specialty can be obtained in 209 universities. In all of them, training lasts from four years. If you study full-time, it will take four years. If in absentia — up to five years.

General and professional disciplines are studied in all universities. Common ones are, for example, history, law, philosophy, economics. They do not relate directly to the specialty, but broaden the horizons. They are trained in any specialty.

Among the professional disciplines there are mandatory ones — the basics of marketing, the basics of communication theory, media planning, the basics of advertising and others. By studying them, the student learns something that will be useful in the work, for example:

  • what advertising and PR tools are there, how to select effective solutions for the task at hand;
  • how to organize PR events: press conferences, press breakfasts, journalistic test drives, presentations;
  • what is an advertising plan, how it is drawn up and how to justify the advertising budget.

There are many professions and specializations available after training in Advertising and Public Relations. Most of them allow you to work remotely. For some professions, education will not be enough - you will need additional skills that cannot be obtained at a university.

We list the most common professions for those who have mastered the specialty "Advertising and Public Relations".
