Stormy weather
A person is always in interaction with the environment and depends on nature, but in the modern world humanity creates global environmental problems and ignores them. We use non-renewable resources, the amount of waste and emissions is constantly increasing, as well as the amount of plastic in our daily lives, which leads to terrible consequences. For example, disruption of ecosystem sustainability, loss of flora and fauna, climate change, extreme weather events (drying up of the seas, ozone holes, greenhouse effect, acid rain). In order to preserve life on Earth, most of humanity must be eco-friendly: firstly, be aware of their responsibility (appreciate green values), and secondly, take actions to minimize environmental harm: take your own shopping bag, use public transport instead of driving, recycle (at the enterprise level).
A risky business
Focusing on global environmental problems, German sociologist Ulrich Beck wrote that we live in a "risk society" – it’s true. I can say that there is always a risk in our lives. Probably, if we knew how many dangers are waiting for us outside, we would always stay at home. Sometimes people consciously take risks: someone dyes their hair in a bright color and someone does deadly extreme sports (for example, bungee jumping, paragliding, wingsuit flying, skydiving,). Why, despite the dangers and threats, do we continue to give up security and comfort? In my opinion, this is due to our feelings, the need to reboot, because often we feel that we are fed up with the current problems. As for me, feelings of excitement, nervousness, a little fear and stress really help me to distract myself from problems, feel life here and now, feel new strength and inspiration, feel relieved. In addition, the ability to take risks allows us to achieve high results.
I’m a survivor
In addition, the behavior of a person in an extreme situation shows who he really is, reveals his personality. It may seem that the survival skill in the modern world is not needed, but I can't agree with that. We are used to having everything we need and even more, but we are not immune from anything (we can remember many examples of natural disasters: hurricane, earthquake, drought, avalanche), so we must be well acquainted (must know well) with the basics of survival before we have to use them in real life. For example, I am not sure that I would be able to provide first aid if I got into an extreme situation. In addition, survival situations are always associated with anxiety, fright and therefore it is extremely important to be able to calm yourself. In conclusion, I believe that knowledge about how to survive in a difficult situation should be given more attention, especially in schools.
Robots are taking over human’s jobs
In my opinion, robots are taking over humans' jobs, because, firstly, there are already real examples of this phenomenon. Robot waiters work in restaurants, in some beauty salons robots can already do manicure and eyelash extensions. Our world is characterized by the dramatic development of technology, so tackling algorithmic tasks is not a problem for robots now. Secondly, using robots expands human opportunities and global achievements. For example, they can work in harmful industries, in places that are inaccessible and dangerous to humans. Thirdly, robots don’t have a human factor, they act according to a given algorithm, which can minimize errors. It certainly improves work process and its results. Fourthly, the use of robots increases labor productivity. A robot is a machine that doesn’t feel tired, it can work without rest and this won’t effect on the quality of work. We are on the cutting edge of innovation so I believe that robots can outperform a person in some professions (especially in routine tasks: banking, household work), but I don’t think that they will completely replace a person.
