1) слайд Good morning ladies and gentlemen. My name is Kadykov Vladimir,  I am a 4th year student of the  Institute of History, Philosophy and Political Sciences.

Today I want to tell you about such a terrible event known as the Arab Spring.

2) I'm going to divide my report into several parts. First, I will tell you about the concept of the Arab Spring itself, then I will tell you the reasons for these events, well, then we will discuss the main points of the "Arab Spring" and summarize the results.

3) The "Arab Spring" is usually called a set of political changes of a radical nature that have occurred in the countries of the Arab world.  Various methods of civil resistance were used during the protests: strikes, demonstrations, marches, pickets and rallies.

4) In fact, the first events began with protests in the State of Tunisia on December 18, 2010 after the self-immolation of Mohamed Bouazizi in protest against police corruption and ill-treatment.

Further, a wave of unrest swept through Libya, Egypt, Algeria, Yemen and then spread to other countries of the Middle East. The most massive demonstrations took place on Friday after the noon prayer - zhuma namaz and were popularly called the "Day of Anger".

5) The events of the "Arab Spring" had serious internal and external prerequisites. Among the causes of the "Arab Spring", many experts identify two key factors. This is an economic factor (stagnation, corruption, unemployment and poverty) in these countries, as well as a geopolitical factor.

6) Algeria has become the second state to be engulfed by mass demonstrations in the wake of the success of activists in Tunisia. The main reasons for the discontent of the population were high unemployment, a sharp rise in the price of food, a serious shortage of housing and restrictions on freedom of speech.

7)The authorities were able to neutralize the first demonstrations by lowering food prices, but they were followed by a real wave of self-immolations, especially in front of government buildings. The main result of the speeches was the promise of reforms and the abolition of the state of emergency that had been in effect in the country for 19 years.

However, there was no comprehensive solution to the main problems: Algeria is still facing protests by unemployed youth.

8)  The Egyptian authorities were much less fortunate in this regard. The "Arab Spring" in this country resulted in the overthrow of the government and President Hosni Mubarak. His departure led to the end of the 30-year rule of one clan, opening the way to power for opposition politicians.

9) However, the uprising brought to power Mohammed Morsi, associated with the Muslim Brotherhood organization banned in the Russian Federation. Religion began to have a greater influence on the policy of the authorities, which was regarded internally as a danger to the habitual way of life of the middle.

10) Protests in Syria broke out in early 2011, Syrians demanded the end of the state of emergency that had been in force since 1963, the restoration of personal, political and economic freedoms, as well as the elimination of corruption.
